Skills & Standards

---

Built for the National Health Education Standards (NHES), these activities support crosscutting concepts such as cause-and-effect and patterns in health outcomes. Students engage with disciplinary core ideas related to healthy behaviors, growth and changes, and disease prevention by using structured prompts that encourage modeling of decision-making steps, then applying analytical reasoning to new scenarios. Throughout the worksheets, students practice evidence-based explanations by citing the logic behind a choice, identifying reliable information, and describing how health skills can reduce risk and strengthen well-being.

Perfect For

---

• Teachers seeking structured instruction
• Sub plans
• Homework or review
• Intervention or centers
• Assessment preparation

How to Use

---

As a lesson bundle, use this set over multiple class days (for example, 1 worksheet per day) and revisit the misinformation and hygiene tasks during check-ins to reinforce transfer. Start with the healthy behaviors worksheet as an entry point, follow with the analyzing information activity to establish a credibility routine, then connect growth and changes to respectful health choices, and end with disease prevention & hygiene for application. For independent practice, assign one worksheet as review, use another for small-group centers, and keep a quick answer key and conferencing prompts so students can revise explanations based on evidence.
