• ✅ Family Structures Worksheet | Assessment for Grades 11-12 Holiday Printable PDF – Focuses on interpreting how family structure can vary and what that variation may mean for student reasoning.
• ✅ Grades 11-12 Holiday Demography & Values Worksheet | Assessment – Guides students to connect demographic ideas to holiday values using short explanations and discussion-ready prompts.
• ✅ Grades 11-12 Holiday Worksheet | Celebrating Families assessment & practice – Provides practice for comparing ideas across families and selecting evidence that supports claims.

Skills & Standards

---

Aligned to the C3 Framework, these worksheets support inquiry and civic reasoning through activities that emphasize crosscutting concepts (patterns, systems, and cause-and-effect change across time and communities). Students will strengthen disciplinary core ideas related to social science learning—how families function as social systems, how demographic factors shape experiences, and how shared values influence holiday practices. You’ll see modeling opportunities when students learn to translate a prompt into a claim, then into an evidence-based explanation grounded in the worksheet material. Analytical reasoning is built through comparing statements, identifying relevant details, and revising responses to better match the evidence. With repeated practice across the three printables, students can move from initial observations to clear, evidence-based explanations about holiday family structures and their impact on community life.

How to Use

---

Use this as a short unit lesson bundle over 3 days (or as a quick review cycle): Day 1 administer the Family Structures Worksheet as a formative assessment, Day 2 complete the Holiday Demography & Values Worksheet for targeted practice with claims and evidence, and Day 3 finish with the Celebrating Families worksheet for consolidation and a final check for understanding. For centers, place each worksheet at a station with a simple evidence checklist (claim, evidence, reasoning). For homework or review, assign one worksheet per night with a brief reflection prompt: “Which detail from the worksheet best supports your explanation?” For intervention, allow students to work with sentence starters and highlight evidence lines before they write.
