Holiday science for Grade 6—May-ready worksheets—builds student reflection and goal setting with classroom-ready prompts and analysis. This lesson bundle uses a May framework for structured practice across three short, focused activities. 🌱

What’s Included

---

• ✅ 6th Grade Holiday Showcase Worksheet Practice (PDF) – Students practice organizing ideas for a showcase while connecting observations to a clear explanation.
• ✅ 6th Grade Science | Reflecting on Growth Worksheet May PDF) – Students reflect on progress using May-focused prompts to support analytical reasoning and evidence-based statements.
• ✅ 6th Grade Holiday Goals Setting Worksheet – SMART Goals & Persistence (PDF) – Students set SMART goals and plan persistence strategies, then justify how their plan supports measurable outcomes.

Skills & Standards

---

Aligned to NGSS10 expectations, these activities support crosscutting concepts such as systems and system models and cause and effect by asking students to track how actions lead to results in their own learning. Students also engage with disciplinary core ideas that emphasize making sense of phenomena through structured explanation, while practicing scientific and engineering practices through short-cycle work. Throughout the bundle, students use modeling (for example, mapping steps toward goals or progress checkpoints) and apply analytical reasoning to connect claims to supporting details. Each worksheet prompts evidence-based explanations—students identify what they observed, what it means, and how it supports their conclusion—so they can strengthen scientific communication in a May rhythm of learning.

Perfect For

---

• Teachers seeking structured instruction
• Sub plans
• Homework or review
• Intervention or centers
• Assessment preparation

How to Use

---

Use this lesson bundle over multi-day pacing: assign the Holiday Showcase worksheet on Day 1 to set expectations, use the Reflecting on Growth worksheet on Day 2 for guided analysis, and complete the Goals Setting worksheet on Day 3 to finish with a plan for persistence. For differentiation, consider a quick “modeling example” on the board before independent work, then provide sentence starters for evidence-based explanations (claim + evidence + reasoning). For centers, place one worksheet per station and include a brief checklist for students to verify they included observations, connections, and a next-step plan. If you are preparing for assessment, use the worksheets as formative checks by collecting responses and noting which students need additional practice with supporting evidence and logical sequencing.
