Overview

---

Holiday ecosystems come alive for Grades 11 - 12 learners as students investigate how biodiversity, pollinators, and conservation decisions connect to real-world sustainability. This  lesson bundle supports focused reading, analysis, and evidence-based responses using three ready-to-use assessment and practice worksheets (3 total).

What’s Included

---

• ✅ Bee Ecosystems Worksheet | Assessment & Student Practice Grades 11 - 12 Holiday – Check understanding of how biotic factors and ecosystem relationships influence bee survival and habitat health.
• ✅ Grades 11 - 12 Holiday Worksheet on The Vital Role of Pollinators | Assessment – Practice explaining why pollinators matter, using claims supported by scientific reasoning and course-appropriate evidence.
• ✅ Conserving Biodiversity Worksheet | Assessment Grades 11 - 12 Holiday – Strengthen conservation thinking by evaluating impacts on biodiversity and proposing evidence-based actions.

Skills & Standards

---

This bundle is designed around NGSS performance expectations for life science learning in ecosystems, biodiversity, and interactions. Students engage with crosscutting concepts such as structure and function and cause and effect, then apply disciplinary core ideas from LS2 (Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics of Ecosystems) and related biodiversity concepts. Activities emphasize modeling (for example, using simplified ecosystem relationship ideas to describe how changes affect organisms), analytical reasoning (comparing outcomes across scenarios), and evidence-based explanations (linking each response to observations, text-based information, or worksheet data).

Perfect For

---

• Teachers seeking structured instruction
• Sub plans
• Homework or review
• Intervention or centers
• Assessment preparation

How to Use

---

Use this as a compact multi-day pacing plan: Day 1 for the Bee Ecosystems assessment & practice, Day 2 for The Vital Role of Pollinators to build explanatory language, and Day 3 for Conserving Biodiversity to synthesize conservation reasoning. Assign worksheets as independent work, then follow with quick whole-group discussion where students underline evidence that justifies their claims; for centers, rotate pairs through one worksheet at a time and provide a brief checklist for vocabulary (ecosystem, pollinator, biodiversity, conservation) and reasoning steps.

Bring measurable rigor to your Holiday ecosystems unit by using these NGSS-aligned worksheets to guide students toward clear, evidence-based explanations. 🐝🌿
