Structured paragraph writing is the focus of this Grade 7 ELA resource, helping students draft organized writing with a clear opening, focused body paragraphs, supporting evidence and explanation, and a purposeful conclusion.

From Plan to Coherent Draft

Students practice writing an opening sentence that sets context and developing body paragraphs in which each paragraph centers on one main idea. They also work with evidence and explanation to develop those ideas and use a concluding statement to reinforce the central message of a draft.

Revision activities address clarity and organization by having students match draft sentences to the planned order of ideas. This supports more logical progression from the opening through the body and toward the conclusion.
